Job summary

HFM in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is seeking a Database Developer Engineer to troubleshoot and optimize SQL and NoSQL queries across MariaDB, Postgres, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Redis, and InfluxDB.

You will collaborate with engineers across languages, identify performance bottlenecks, and implement effective solutions while maintaining technical documentation and staying current with DBMS trends. Hybrid work model available.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a database developer/DBA role.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or related field.
• Strong SQL and NoSQL knowledge.
• Experience with MariaDB, Postgres, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Redis, InfluxDB.
• Ability to guide engineers on DB performance through query design.
• Proficient in Python and .NET.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, analyze, and optimize SQL and NoSQL queries across various database technologies including MariaDB, Postgres, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Redis and InfluxDB.
• Collaborate with developers across multiple languages and platforms to understand their database needs and challenges.
• Conduct thorough database system analysis, identify performance bottlenecks, and implement effective solutions.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation related to query performance tuning, problem resolution, and system design.
• Keep abreast with the latest technologies and trends in Database Management Systems (DBMS).
  
• Participate in the team's on-call rotation.
