Job description
Database Administrator - Oracle & MS SQL
  • The Database Administrator is the SME in Oracle (including Oracle JD Edwards, Enterprise Manager and AWS RDS Oracle) and Microsoft SQL Server. This role defines innovation strategy for database systems and exercises considerable latitude and initiative to solve complex problems and ensures the company’s database systems are safe, secure, and cost effective.
Responsibilities
  • Act as a SME of Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Server, including On‑premises, Private Cloud and Public Cloud environment.
  • Provide database engineering advice as well as generalized technical solution for multiple product delivery teams within the Technology organization.
  • Enhance the scalability and performance of existing Oracle database architecture and MS SQL server and cluster.
  • Influence operations and product delivery teams to ensure new capabilities are adopted and operationalized.
  • Closely partner with different groups within Technology organization as well as business units in order to clearly understand their requirements, implement technology solutions, and own the resulting systems.
  • Support cross‑function enterprise infrastructure projects related to Oracle and MS SQL server database systems.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with enterprise platforms engineering & architecture, ensuring our forward‑looking strategies and roadmaps align.
  • Represent the team and manager at business and project meetings.
  • Support on‑call rotation.
Requirements
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in technology, with at least 5 years of professional experience with both Oracle and MS SQL server databases.
  • Bachelor or master’s degree in computer science, information technology or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of the following:
Oracle
  • Oracle Database (12c to 19c)
  • Application upgrade with Oracle Database upgrade/ migration
  • Oracle Database installation, maintenance, ETL, application queries, replication and backup/restore techniques/tools, audit, authentication, storage & capacity planning, security, performance monitoring, tuning & diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
Microsoft SQL Server
  • Microsoft SQL Server (2014 to 2019)
  • Administrate/ maintain and configure database
  • Cluster/ virtual machines farm
  • Performance monitoring and tuning
  • Database backup, restore and recovery
  • Upgrade, migration and decommission
