We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Database Administrator (DBA) to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimising our company’s databases to ensure efficiency, security, and data integrity. This role plays a key part in supporting our organisation’s data‑driven operations and includes involvement in data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) during the migration from a legacy system to a modern platform.

Roles and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
  • Implement, manage, and maintain databases to ensure optimal performance and data integrity.
  • Monitor database systems proactively to detect and resolve issues.
  • Perform regular backups and establish disaster recovery procedures to ensure data availability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database‑related issues and performance bottlenecks.
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimise database design, schema, and performance.
  • Enforce database security measures to safeguard sensitive data.
  • Maintain and update technical documentation for database configurations and procedures.
  • Stay informed of industry best practices and emerging technologies in database management.
Qualification and Education Requirement
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server; familiarity with Oracle or MySQL is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in SQL and query optimisation.
  • Experience in database backup, recovery, and security practices.
  • Good understanding of database design principles and data normalisation.
  • Experience in T‑SQL scripting and data handling is an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational, and communication skills.
