Job summary

DayOne is seeking a Data Governance professional to define metadata, dictionaries, and glossaries across Microsoft Purview, Fabric, and OneLake. You will monitor data quality, collaborate with data owners, and help ensure regulatory compliance.

Strong communication and attention to detail are essential for driving governance maturity in a global data platform. You will work with cross-functional teams to implement data stewardship practices, oversee classification and lineage, and support

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Systems, Data Management, or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in data stewardship, governance, or data quality roles.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Purview, Azure Data Catalog, and Fabric Lakehouse.
• Experience with metadata management and data lineage tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain metadata, data dictionaries, and business glossaries with Purview and Fabric.
• Monitor data quality metrics and remediation for critical datasets.
• Collaborate with data owners to establish stewardship workflows and data certification protocols.
• Support data classification, lineage tracking, and access controls using Purview/Azure tools.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations (PDPA, GDPR).

Core Responsibilities

• Define and maintain metadata, data dictionaries, and business glossaries within Microsoft Purview and Fabric.
• Monitor data quality metrics and implement remediation processes for critical datasets.
• Collaborate with data owners to establish stewardship workflows and data certification protocols.
• Support data classification, lineage tracking, and access controls using Azure Data Catalog and Purview.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., PDPA, GDPR).
• Facilitate data governance forums and contribute to the development of enterprise data standards.
• Work with data engineers to validate ingestion pipelines and ensure consistency across Lakehouse tables.
• Assist in onboarding new datasets into OneLake with appropriate tagging and documentation.
• Champion data stewardship best practices across departments and promote data literacy.

Requirements

• Degree in Information Systems, Data Management, or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in data stewardship, governance, or data quality roles.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Purview, Azure Data Catalog, and Fabric Lakehouse.
• Previous experience working in Big4 consulting, global enterprises, or fortune 500 is a plus.
• Understanding of data governance frameworks and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with metadata management and data lineage tools.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Detail-oriented with a passion for data accuracy and consistency.
