Job summary

Experian Asia Pacific is seeking an intermediate Data Scientist on a 12-month contract in Malaysia to join our Data Science team. You will apply statistical analysis, experimentation and machine learning to real business problems while collaborating with Product, Data Engineering and other stakeholders to deliver practical outcomes.

The role involves working within a multidisciplinary scrum team, reporting to the Data Science and Engineering Manager, and contributing to Mosaic, Spend Analytics,

Qualifications

• 5 years of working experience applying data science and ML techniques to business or product challenges, ideally in marketing analytics or customer-data environments.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for analysing large datasets using libraries such as pandas and scikit-learn.
• Strong knowledge of statistics, experimentation and ML including regression, hypothesis testing and model evaluation.
• Experience with modern cloud data platforms such as Snowflake.
• Clear communication and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams across locations.

Responsibilities

• Analyse complex datasets to identify patterns and insights informing product and business decisions.
• Develop and evaluate statistical and ML models, including data prep, feature engineering, model selection and monitoring.
• Design and analyse experiments using regression, hypothesis testing and A/B testing.
• Collaborate with Product, Data Engineering and stakeholders to translate requirements into analytical solutions.
