Job summary

EPAM Systems in Malaysia is seeking a Project Manager/Data Product Owner to connect business priorities to data delivery. You will own the roadmap and backlog for commercial data products, translate needs into build-ready requirements and keep delivery on track across APAC stakeholders.

In this role, you will partner with business heads, define the product vision, drive discovery, and ensure governance and adoption measures are met.

Qualifications

• Hybrid experience delivering data projects and owning products.
• End-to-end data analytics delivery experience.
• Experience shaping data products and consumption models in governed environments.
• Ability to run stakeholder workshops and manage a prioritized demand pipeline.
• Insurance data flows across policy, claims, underwriting, or finance.
• Experience working across countries and cultures in lean teams.
• Clear communication across business and technical audiences.

Job description

We are seeking a Project Manager/Data Product Owner to connect business priorities to data delivery. You will own the roadmap and backlog for commercial data products, translate needs into build-ready requirements and keep delivery and adoption on track across APAC stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the day-to-day partner for business stakeholders across countries and business units
• Own product vision, roadmap and backlog for assigned data products and domains
• Translate business needs into requirements, specifications and acceptance criteria
• Lead discovery for the commercial domain with shared definitions, taxonomy alignment and source understanding
• Plan and track delivery including iteration planning, dependencies and governance reporting
• Drive adoption planning, success measures and continuous improvement for delivered data products
• Facilitate workshops with senior stakeholders and turn outcomes into actionable delivery direction

Requirements

• Proven hybrid experience spanning project delivery and product ownership in data or analytics contexts
• Experience delivering data or analytics initiatives end to end within a broader program structure
• Strong background shaping data products, data domains and consumption models in governed environments
• Ability to run stakeholder workshops, manage expectations and maintain a prioritized demand pipeline
• Insurance operations understanding across policy, claims, underwriting, distribution or finance data flows
• Experience working across countries and cultures with comfort operating in lean teams and ambiguity
• Clear communication across business and technical audiences

Nice to have

• Exposure to Snowflake, modern business intelligence stacks and data catalog tooling
• Familiarity with Malaysian and broader APAC insurance markets
• Agile product certifications such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager
