Job summary

Horizontal Talent in Malaysia is seeking a Solution Analyst (data engineer) to manage SDLC activities for our Supply Chain Planning solutions, including analysis, design, configuration, development, testing, deployment and rollout.

You will focus on data engineering, data mappings and system integrations, document technical specs, collaborate with GPA, IT and external partners, and drive continuous improvement across the solution landscape.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science and Technology.
• Minimum five years of experience in at least two IT solution development disciplines, including architecture and application design/development.
• Proven experience as a data engineer or in a similar role within the supply chain management domain.
• Business-to-Technical translation: ability to translate business requirements into actionable technical specifications.
• Business & System knowledge: deep understanding of data structures, processes and systems.
• End-to-End data flow understanding: follow data lineage across reporting layers and data sources.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with end-to-end analysis of data pipelines.
• Cross-Functional communication and agile methods experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and translate requirements into functional and technical specifications and solution designs.
• Assess existing systems and processes to identify gaps and improvements; inform cost and time estimates.
• Develop comprehensive solution designs aligned with goals, standards and best practices; participate in development activities.
• Coordinate with development teams and vendors to ensure smooth integration with existing systems; participate in testing.
• Create detailed technical documentation, including architecture, requirements, user guides and training materials.
• Engage with business users, IT teams and external stakeholders to ensure successful implementation and adoption.
• Participate in project planning and execution, including task estimation, resource allocation, progress tracking and risk management.
• Stay updated on industry trends and propose continuous improvements to systems and processes.
