Job summary

A leading data infrastructure provider is seeking a candidate to oversee shift operations and maintenance to ensure 100% uptime at its Johor facility. Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience in a Data Centre and possess a Professional Engineering Diploma. Strong English communication skills, knowledge of building management laws, and proficiency in Microsoft applications are essential. The role involves hands-on troubleshooting and compliance management.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience in a Data Centre or Hi-tech factory.
  • A valid Electrical switching certificate and/or license (Chargeman) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead shift operations and maintenance for 100% facility uptime.
  • Perform hands-on operations and troubleshooting of critical facility systems.
  • Call for work halt on abnormalities and manage incident responses.
  • Support preventive maintenance programme and ensure compliance with regulations.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Lead shift operations and maintenance work to achieve 100% facility uptime.
  • Perform shift duties, hands‑on operations, inspection, and troubleshooting of critical facility systems and equipment.
  • Inspect and sign off maintenance performed by vendors or OEMs, ensuring compliance with work method statements.
  • Call for work halt on abnormalities, notify monitoring centre and seek Lead Engineer clearance before troubleshooting.
  • Operate and monitor critical system equipment and components, oversee change control application processes for safe operation.
  • Disable and enable fire alarm control panels and systems.
  • Support preventive maintenance programme: scheduling, performing, supervising tasks, ordering parts, maintaining inventory.
  • Operate monitoring centre: handle incident management, escalation, reporting, root‑cause analysis, and work order management.
  • Respond immediately to emergency situations (fire, evacuation, equipment failure, etc.) and customer concerns.
  • Deliver all tasks for customer SLA and ensure 100% compliance.
  • Perform work safely per Safety Programme; maintain a clean and safe workplace.
  • Update tools and supply inventories, submit purchase‑order requests, source stock materials.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory laws and guidelines, alert senior management of discrepancies.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Company.
Requirements
  • Proficient in English with strong written communication; ability to write detailed work scripts, SOPs, and prepare incident reports.
  • Good knowledge of laws governing building management and maintenance, including safety, evacuation, and environmental protection.
  • Professional Engineering Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical engineering with at least 3 years of relevant work experience in a Data Centre or Hi‑tech factory/plant.
  • A valid Electrical switching certificate and/or license (Chargeman) for LV/HT electrical system preferred.
  • Hands‑on knowledge of critical data centre systems: HVAC, standby emergency power, UPS, and associated infrastructure.
  • Proficient in computer applications: CMMS, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
