Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is seeking an on-site Mechanical Engineering Lead for data centre projects in Kuala Lumpur. You will design, specify, and manage MEP systems, focusing on HVAC, fire protection, and energy-efficient solutions.

Lead coordination with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure compliance and timely delivery. The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, 10+ years in relevant design/PM, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• PE license preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in designing and managing mechanical systems (HVAC and Fire) for data centre projects.
• Strong knowledge of codes, standards, and practices for infrastructure fit-out projects.
• Proficiency with design and project management tools (AutoCAD, Revit, ACon, Procore).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design, develop, and implement MEP systems for data centres.
• Prepare mechanical specifications, drawings, and construction documents.
• Evaluate equipment selection for performance and compatibility.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses; propose upgrades.
• Provide field support during construction; review submittals and RFIs.
• Perform HVAC load calculations, energy modeling, and airflow analyses.
• Coordinate with architects and project managers to integrate systems.
• Support commissioning and system testing; troubleshoot issues.
