A leading global energy management company seeks a Data Center Tender Manager to oversee the tendering process for VIP customers in East Asia. Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in solution tendering, strong project management skills, and fluency in English. Responsibilities include promoting Schneider Electric technologies, managing project execution, and being the central point of contact during negotiations. The Role: Data Center Tender Manager - East Asia
What will you do?
In charge of the tendering of the Data Center opportunities of VIP customers in the East Asia zone.
During the pre-tender stage and with the support of the commercial team, technical leader and global team,
1. Promote, influence, prescribe Schneider Electric technologies and value-add to maximize chance of success during tender stage.
2. Manage the pipeline of opportunities to be tendered with the account(s) in the East Asia zone and launch any actions with stakeholder that will enable Schneider Electric to be set for success during tender & execution.
During the tender stage,
1. Be the single point of contact to the commercial team and customer during the offer preparation.
2. Contribute to the tender strategy definition with the commercial team, define the tendering team (local/regional) as well as the tender budget required to bid the oppty.
3. Be accountable & responsible for executing the tender strategy of the portfolio of opportunities of your VIP customer(s) in the East Asia zone.
4. With the support of the technical leader, factories & other support function team, lead the project execution costing.
5. With the support of the Subject Matters Experts (Finance, Contract mgt, Tax, Logistics, Purchasing…) assess the overall project risk profile & set appropriate mitigation plans.
6. Leverage lessons learned gathered from previous tenders/projects to mitigate risk during execution & drive productivity and support the price positioning.
7. With the support of the commercial team, global team & technical leader, make sure the offer being prepared meets customer key success criteria (price, leadtime, consistency with previous offers) while addressing local specificities (tax, local regulations…).
8. When needed, challenge deliverables of team and suppliers to ensure we have a "winning offer" to submit.
9. Remain in constant communication with the commercial team to validate the positioning of our offer, confirm the offer submission schedule while meeting company project processes.
10. Lead the internal tender review and internal approval process before submitting the offer to customer.
After submission of the offer:
1. Support the account team during negotiations with customer
2. Strive to reach mutual agreement during negotiation with customer while remaining in the approved mandate defined during the internal tender review/approval gate.
3. Before signing customer purchase order, ensure it falls under the pre-approved mandate. If not, assess gaps and seek mgmt approval or re-negotiate with customer.
4. Lead the transfer to execution & gather lessons learned for future oppties.
