Job Description
The team is seeking a Data Center Designer who is passionate about innovation and committed to excellence in the cloud infrastructure space. The role involves close collaboration with the data center development organization and external vendors to build, maintain, and enhance cloud infrastructure. The Data Center Designer is responsible for evaluating the reliability of materials, components, and techniques used in production; and for planning, designing, and developing electronic parts, mechanical systems, equipment, packaging, and telecom system design.

Responsibilities

• Manage and create data center white space designs, including rack layouts, hot/cold containment, network infrastructure, power requirements, cable pathways, and build phases
• Collaborate with colocation providers and internal stakeholders to develop project design criteria and Basis of Design
• Coordinate with internal teams to gather requirements and ensure alignment with colocation providers
• Support the development of data center facilities requirements documentation
• Research new designs, materials, and construction methods for electrical and mechanical equipment
• Create, develop, and maintain site documentation, including floor plans, rack elevations, and cable matrices
• Review and evaluate RFI, RFP, and RFQ submissions
• Assist in developing global data center infrastructure standards
• Travel to new and existing data center sites for engineering analysis
• Meet critical deadlines within project schedules
• Participate in project coordination meetings and communicate project updates clearly
