Job summary

Exyte GmbH is seeking a Manager – Commercial Project Management in Malaysia to oversee commercial and contractual management of data center projects, safeguarding profitability and ensuring proper contract administration.

You will collaborate with Project Management, Procurement, Engineering, Construction and Finance teams to manage change, costs, risks and final accounts, while leading the commercial project management team toward optimal financial performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Commercial Management or related discipline.
• MRICS or AIQS or equivalent is advantageous.
• Typically 10–15 years of relevant experience in commercial management or contract management on major projects.
• Proven experience managing commercial and contractual matters for large-scale construction or engineering projects.
• Experience in data center projects or complex MEP-intensive facilities is highly desirable.
• Strong experience in contract administration, change management, claims, commercial negotiations, subcontract management and final account settlements.
• Familiarity with construction contracts such as FIDIC or similar forms is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial activities across assigned data center projects to safeguard profitability and achieve contractual and financial objectives.
• Manage contract interpretation, compliance, obligations, notices, claims and correspondence with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Oversee identification, evaluation, negotiation and approval of variations and change orders for proper commercial recovery.
• Monitor project commercial performance, cost exposure, revenue, cash flow and margin with Project Controls and Finance.
• Identify commercial and contractual risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimise exposure and disputes.
• Provide oversight of subcontract agreements, purchase orders, payment claims, variations and final account settlements.
• Lead commercial negotiations with clients, contractors and suppliers to achieve favourable outcomes.
• Prepare commercial performance reports, maintain risk/change registers, ensure compliance with policies and authorities.
• Lead and develop the commercial project management team with guidance on contract management and financial performance.
