Job summary

Billennium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia seeks a seasoned Data Architect to lead a strategic data transformation within the insurance sector. The role centers on migrating legacy IBM DB2 systems to AWS-based platforms with PostgreSQL as a core target, ensuring performance, scalability and data integrity.

You will define end-to-end data architecture, design models, govern data across platforms, and mentor data engineering teams while engaging with senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering, with at least 3 years in a Data Architect role.
• Strong hands-on expertise in relational databases (IBM DB2, PostgreSQL preferred).
• Proven track record in large-scale data migration projects, especially to AWS.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, database design, and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with AWS data services (RDS, Aurora, DMS; Redshift is a plus).
• Experience in the insurance or financial services domain is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of data governance, compliance, and security frameworks.
