The Team:
The Translations department is part of the Documents Insights and Services domain within the Market Intelligence division at S&P Global. The team is responsible for delivering accurate and timely translated content to internal financial and non-financial data collection teams within the division. It also supports translation requirements for other divisions as well as Corporate, Technology, Legal and News groups within the company.
Responsibilities and Impact:
- Convert (translate/localize) high-level financial documents from Mandarin to English and vice-versa, ensuring exceptional quality, style, and tone.
- Conduct primary and secondary research to collect relevant financial information and maintain up-to-date market knowledge, directly supporting S&P Global's strategic goals and client products.
- Ensure timely and accurate resolution of internal and external client queries while providing rigorous quality assurance for translated and localized materials.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of language glossaries, dictionaries, translation memories, and style guides, and participate in testing new tools and process improvement initiatives.
- Deliver consistently on predefined individual and team targets with excellence, continuously developing expertise in translation and financial market trends within a global, multicultural team environment.
- All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week.
Compensation/Benefits Information:
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $A to $Z. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan. This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits.
Basic Required Qualifications:
- An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 3-5+ years of experience in data analysis or translation within a financial context. Proficiency or native competency in Mandarin and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both, including familiarity with Chinese financial markets.
- Strong knowledge of Accounting and Financial subject matter, concepts, and terms, ideally encompassing financial statements, key ratios, and other market-related data.
- Proven analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and advanced proficiency in information research on the internet and Microsoft Office 365 applications.
- We require all external candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer.
