Job summary

bp Malaysia invites applications for an early careers data & AI role based in Kuala Lumpur. You will join a three-year graduate program with three rotations across bp’s Data & AI discipline, working with data managers, scientists and engineers to solve real business problems and narrate insights that drive decisions.

Qualifications

• CGPA 3.2 or above or equivalent; in computer science or data science.
• Final year or degree completed.
• Strong data modelling and analysis with statistical background.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python; basic Git usage.
• Fundamentals of development in high-level languages (C#/Java/Python/R).
• Good problem-solving with understanding of data structures & algorithms.
• Knowledge of statistics and linear algebra.
• Ability to collaborate, communicate, and learn continuously.
• Projects/Internships in Data-AI are a plus.
• Candidates who can join on 2nd August 2027 only may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Work within the Data & AI discipline with rotations across bp’s programs.
• Collaborate with business SMEs, data managers, data scientists and engineers to understand problems.
• Extract actionable insights and narrate a data story to support business decisions.
• Contribute to improving safety, operational efficiency and cost through data-driven insights.
