Job summary

Micron Technology is a world leader in memory and storage solutions, seeking a Maintenance Technician to support SSD test equipment in our Penang, Malaysia facility. You will troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime while assisting engineers with upgrades and documentation.

You will monitor equipment health, participate in calibration, validation, and continuous improvement projects.

Qualifications

• Diploma in a relevant engineering field.
• Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and understand technical documentation, schematics, and SOPs.
• Willingness to learn in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willing to work in a cleanroom environment and support shift operations.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and automation-related issues on SSD test equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance according to schedules and procedures.
• Support equipment recovery to minimize downtime and production impact.
• Assist engineers in equipment upgrades, modifications, and new hardware deployments.
• Conduct equipment calibration, verification, and validation activities.
• Monitor equipment health and identify reliability improvement opportunities.
• Maintain maintenance records and logs accurately.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring failures.
• Follow safety, quality, ESD, and cleanroom procedures.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance productivity, yield, and equipment performance.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Robotics, or related field.
• Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of troubleshooting methodologies and problem-solving techniques.
• Ability to read and understand technical documentation, schematics, and SOPs.
• Strong willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willing to work in a cleanroom environment and support shift operations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in semiconductor, SSD, electronics manufacturing, or automated equipment maintenance.
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux environments.
• Basic knowledge of automation systems, sensors, robotics, or machine vision.
• Experience with data analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI, or SQL.
• Exposure to preventive maintenance programs and equipment reliability improvement initiatives.
• Basic knowledge of data analytics tools, AI concepts, automation systems, or digital manufacturing technologies is preferred.
• Utilize AI-assisted monitoring tools and equipment dashboards to identify abnormal equipment behavior, support predictive maintenance activities, and improve equipment uptime.
• Basic AI proficiency and familiarity with AI-assisted tools, data analytics, and digital manufacturing technologies.
• Ability to leverage AI tools to improve troubleshooting efficiency, data analysis, and equipment reliability.
• Basic proficiency in AI tools and digital technologies to support equipment troubleshooting, data analysis, and continuous improvement activities.

• Utilize AI-enabled tools and digital technologies to improve troubleshooting, maintenance planning, and operational efficiency.
• Apply data analytics and visualization tools to support equipment performance monitoring and decision-making.
• Leverage automation and AI-assisted solutions to reduce manual effort and improve productivity.
• Continuously develop digital, AI, and automation competencies to support smart manufacturing initiatives.
• Promote AI-enabled ways of working while ensuring responsible, secure, and compliant use of technology.
