Credit Approval Executive (6 Months Contract)

Primarily to conduct independent credit assessment of all credit facilities and to recommend to higher approving authorities for approval. To actively manage the asset quality by identifying emerging risks of the existing loan portfolio and to manage the risks. To ensure adherence to the regulators, head office and bank’s credit policies, manual, guidelines and instructions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Familiar and keep abreast of the provision and changes in the statutory requirements, Head Office / BOCM policies/manuals/guidelines and Bank Negara Malaysia’s guidelines to ensure due compliance in all aspects.
  • Adhere to and ensure that the policies, procedures and guidelines including but not limited to the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Financing of Terrorism Operations Manual / Anti-Bribery and Corruption policies are complied with, as well as all other operating policies/procedures and regulatory rules.
  • Proactively manage the loan quality of the Bank.
  • Conduct in-depth and quality independent due diligence / credit assessment for CBD/FID loan applications in accordance with BNM/BOCHK/BOCM policies, manuals, guidelines and to recommend approval within the Credit Approving Authority. Recommend appropriate credit rating and loan classification, next review date, etc. Ensure completeness of information and terms and conditions.
  • Turnaround applications/requests within the agreed turnaround time set by Management.
  • Set the right priority to handle both new / incremental loan applications and to reduce overdue review.
  • Performs or handles other responsibilities assigned by Team Lead/Director, HOD CAD and/or senior management.
  • Relief Secretary of Credit Evaluation Panel. Assist with CEP matters including preparation and compilation of proposals to be submitted to the Credit Evaluation Panels, agendas, minutes, etc. Ensure compliance with CEP Guidelines.
  • Prepare and update reports and handle administrative functions of the department assigned by HOD CAD and/or Team Lead CAD.
  • Protect the customer’s information or Bank’s information as per the Bank’s policy.
  • Accurately and timely update information as required for reporting/archiving (shared folders) purposes.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum a bachelor’s degree in banking, finance, accounting, economics, business or any relevant field.
  • Strong analytical skill, preferably good understanding of accounts and finance. Familiar with the economy and business environment of Malaysia.
  • Good writing skill and basic skill to operate Microsoft Office.
  • Good interpersonal skills. Meticulous with an eye for detail.
  • Team player with positive attitude towards stress and challenges, and the ability to work closely with all counterparties.
  • Strong adaptability to changes.
  • Hardworking with high level of self-confidence and sense of ownership.
