A creative marketing agency in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Creative Lead to oversee the creative department. This role involves managing the team, collaborating with marketing, and ensuring high-quality artwork. As the creative driving force behind the brand, the Creative Lead shapes the team’s vision, processes, and output to deliver impactful, on-brand work across all touchpoints.
The Creative Lead oversees the Creative department by hiring, training, and mentoring staff.
Establish Creative department standards for production, productivity, quality of all the artwork / output material.
Ensure team adheres to current processes, identifies opportunities for improvement, and proposes and creates processes and tools to support design operations.
Collaborate with internal Marketing team in creating marketing plans and aligning team priorities with business objectives so that high-quality artwork is delivered on time and on budget.
Develop art direction / creative approaches, styles, and techniques for the team.
Analyze market trends, consumer needs, and the competitor landscape, and work together with Marketing team to track campaign performance.
Work with entire Creative team on creative art direction to elevate innovation and establish a unified CIMB brand look and feel across all the marketing campaigns and initiatives.
Conceptualize campaign vision, harnessing original graphics, content copy, website content, social media, and other marketing materials.
Develop creative briefs based on ideas from brainstorming sessions, with direction, schedules, and deliverables for the Creative Service Manager and creative team.
Work together with Creative Service Manager to delegate projects to designers and oversee storyboards.
Obtain Marketing team approval of final layouts, storyboards, and illustrations; encourage members to provide feedback; and respond to internal commentary and requests.
Oversee presentation of final concepts and coordinate production and dissemination for cross‑departmental use.
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, fine arts, or related field with at least 3 years of managerial experience.
Experience as a creative marketing manager / art director.
Experience in web development.
Experience in video production.
Demonstrable experience in leading and managing a team, fostering collaboration, and driving results.
Hands‑on experience with logo design, typography, color, web layout design, print production, image selection, and website design.
Proficient use of Photoshop, Illustrator, or other visual design and wireframing tools; demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio.
Proficiency in digital marketing platforms, including media management tools, marketing automation software, and web analytics.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling content and effectively convey marketing messages.
Solid knowledge of photography and video production.
