Job summary

Linesight in Malaysia is seeking a Cost Manager to join our global project and cost management practice. You will work with experienced teams to create cost estimates, manage spend, and support contract-related activities across diverse client developments.

The role emphasizes hands-on cost planning, continuous cost reporting, and proactive stakeholder engagement. You will travel for short periods to meet clients and teams, contributing to a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in pre- and post-contract cost management on varied projects.
• Degree or comparable experience in cost management, contract law, or construction disciplines.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and manage own priorities and deadlines.
• Willingness to travel for short periods to meet clients, partners and team.
• Strong relationship-building with teams and clients through openness and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Create estimates and cost plans for key client developments and draft contracts, variations and correspondence.
• Support nimble project management with cost documentation and timely communication.
• Actively participate in tender/bid processes from documentation to analysis and reporting.
• Oversee project spend by creating valuations and cost reports; communicate variations clearly.
• Assist in settlement of disputes, loss and expense claims with transparency.
• Resolve commercial, change orders and contract issues swiftly and fairly.
• Assist in preparing and agreeing final accounts, ensuring client value from works.

The Opportunity

In this role you will:

• Create estimates and cost plans for key client developments, support in drafting new contracts, variations and contractual correspondence
• Support nimble project management and clear decisions through excellent cost documentation and timely communication
• Actively participate in the tender/bid process--from initial tender/bid documentation through analysis and reporting
• Oversee project spend by creating valuations and cost reports, and clearly communicate variations to your team
• Support the settlement of construction disputes/loss and expense claims with transparency
• Resolve any commercial, change orders and contract issues quickly and fairly
• Assist in the preparation and agreement of final accounts, including the handling of any claims to ensure the client gets best value from works undertaken
