The Position
Cost Accounting Analyst
Your opportunity:

As a Cost Accounting Analyst, you will support a manufacturing site by ensuring financial compliance, executing month-end close activities, and delivering standard cost and inventory related activities. You will develop financial accounting models to improve performance measurement and ensure data quality and compliance. Additionally, you will collaborate globally on continuous improvement of processes, systems, and standards across the network.

  • Responsible for month-end close activities execution including preparation of Manual Journal Entries as requested
  • Responsible for standard costing execution and for the delivery of results including data quality as per timeline requested
  • Performs advanced accounting functions requiring thorough knowledge of manufacturing and supply chain accounting methods, principles, and practices and requests master data changes as needed.
  • Responsible for executing complex analysis and audits documentation of accounting transactions and processes in the P2D Finance business process area in conformance with accounting requirements and principles.
  • Serves as a key contact for affiliates served and an internal resource for colleagues.
  • Prepares appropriate commentary or explanations relating to report items of particular interest or significance.
  • Conducts any investigations of the accounts involved (e.g. inventory, variances, allowances). Recommends actions to management.
  • Supplies or explains data to customers, secures information, or describes data, which could be provided. Provides advice on accounting matters especially when based on well-established principles and practices.
  • Ensures system and procedure compliance with company policies, acceptable accounting practices, and applicable regulations.
  • Serves as an internal resource to colleagues and assists in their development and training. Performs other duties and assist or lead with projects as needed
Who you are:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or any related field is required with at least 3 years of relevant experience
  • Proven knowledge of finance and accounting principles and practices GAAP or IFRS and auditing
  • Knowledge of applications in a computerized environment, including spreadsheets applications, and databases (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, G-Suite, etc.)
  • Proven analytical, and accuracy skills. Requires attention to details
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to prioritize and organize work effectively, adhere to tight and established deadlines
  • Knowledge of Finance Shared Services and operational accounting processes and related technology systems (e.g. SAP, Blackline, etc.) is desired.
  • Experience working with one or more SAP Modules (i.e. FI, CO/PA, MM, PP).
  • Prior experience in areas such as Production Planning, Manufacturing Cost Accounting, Inventory Valuation, Standard Costing is advantageous
  • Prior experience in the Pharmaceutical industry is a plus.
