Job summary

A global leader in modular data center solutions is seeking a Cost Accountant in Iskandar Puteri. This role involves developing cost models, analyzing manufacturing costs, and collaborating with teams for cost reduction initiatives. The ideal candidate has a relevant degree, professional certification, and at least 3 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in manufacturing. Proficiency in Chinese, English, and Bahasa Malaysia is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of cost accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting standards, financial reporting, and variance analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain standard cost models for products and services.
• Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs, identifying variances.
• Partner with Procurement, Sales, and Operations teams for cost transparency.
• Lead month-end closing activities related to inventory valuation.
• Prepare detailed cost reports and dashboards.

Job Description

Cost Management & Analysis

• Develop and maintain standard cost models for products and services, ensuring accurate cost allocation and pricing support.
• Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs (materials, labor, overhead), identifying variances and improvement opportunities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Reporting

• Partner with Procurement, Sales, and Operations teams to enhance cost transparency and drive cost reduction initiatives.
• Lead month-end closing activities related to inventory valuation, WIP analysis, and cost accruals.
• Prepare detailed cost reports and dashboards for management review and strategic planning.

Strategic Cost Optimization

• Conduct scenario analysis and cost-benefit evaluations for new business initiatives.
• Propose and implement data-driven cost-saving strategies to improve operational efficiency and profitability.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional certification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA) is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle is an advantage.
• Fluent in Chinese, English, and Bahasa Malaysia (spoken & written).
