Job summary

A leading food services company in Shah Alam is seeking a Cook responsible for preparing meals in large quantities and assisting the chef. The ideal candidate will have a diploma or equivalent, experience in Asian/Western cuisine, and be committed to maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. Benefits include free meals, medical coverage, and performance bonuses. Shifts are rostered from 5:00 am to 1:30 pm and 10:30 am to 7:00 pm, with Sundays off.

Qualifications

  • Experience to cook in large quantity (Asian/Western).

Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibility for cooking food along with sous chef.
  • Assist chef in food preparation as per client specification.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and in working condition.
  • Supervise cooking and kitchen personnel.
  • Estimate daily food requirements based on orders.
  • Assist in food cost controlling and monitoring.
  • Check taste, temperature, and visual appeal of food.
  • Maintain cleanliness and comply with food safety requirements.

Responsibility
  • Cooks are responsible primarily for cooking the food along with the sous chef
  • Assist chef in food preparation / served as per the contract and client specification.
  • To ensure all kitchen equipment and tools are always cleaned and in proper working condition.
  • Assist Chef in supervises cooking and all kitchen personnel
  • Assist Chef in estimates current and daily requirements of foods consumption base on event orders, daily menus forecast
  • To assist Chef in food cost controlling and monitoring.
  • Coordinate closely with the chef and in determining quality and quantity of food material used with a view of eliminating waste and spoilage, especially meat, fish, products etc.
  • Responsible of the food prepare in the kitchen. Check constantly for taste, temperature, and visual appeal. Make sure that all products from the kitchen are correct.
  • Ensure the cleanliness, 5S of working area are always practiced and complied with food safety requirement.

Rostered Shift: 5.00am - 1.30pm & 10.30am-7.00pm

Working Days: 6 Days (Mon-Sat) & Sunday: Off day
