About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur / within the Culinary Department in Kuala Lumpur, the Cook is responsible for the station assigned to him by his Sous Chef and assist to prepare food in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures. The Cook reports to the Sous Chef / Executive Chef.

As Cook, you will beresponsiblefor the following duties:
  • Ensure that all conducted training of food preparations, hygiene and grooming standards is understood and followed.
  • Ensure that all kitchen mise-en-place is prepared according to production plan
  • Check food storage areas and refrigerators for cleanliness and proper functioning and report any discrepancies to the supervisor.
  • Maintains consistent quality continuously shows efforts to upgrade the products produced in his assigned area.
  • To comply at all times, the standard recipes, quality requirements, stocks, and techniques of his/ her kitchen and within the kitchen outlet and communicates with Chef de Partie and supporting kitchens’ status, shortfalls and trainings needs.
