A leading construction firm in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a seasoned professional to lead and manage all contractual and commercial aspects of Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) works across multiple projects. The ideal candidate will have 8–12 years of experience in the construction industry, especially in large-scale M&E-intensive projects, and possess strong skills in contract negotiation and cost management. This position offers opportunities for strategic procurement and project financial oversight.

Overview

Lead and manage all contractual and commercial aspects of Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) works across multiple projects. Responsible for cost management, procurement strategy, contract administration, and commercial risk control to ensure project profitability and compliance with contractual obligations.

Responsibilities

A) Contract & Commercial Management

  • Oversee preparation, negotiation, and administration of M&E contracts and subcontracts.
  • Review contract terms, identify potential risks, and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Manage project financial performance, ensuring accurate cost reporting and forecasting.
  • Lead commercial reviews and advise management on contractual and cost-related issues.

B) Procurement & Cost Control

  • Develop procurement strategies for M&E packages and oversee tender evaluations.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors for competitive pricing and favourable terms.
  • Monitor cost control measures to ensure budget adherence and identify value engineering opportunities.
  • Manage project cash flow, cost recovery, and final account closing.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Candidates with a Degree in Quantity Surveying are also encouraged to apply.
  • Minimum 8–12 years of experience in M&E contract or commercial management within the construction industry.
  • Proven track record in large-scale M&E-intensive projects (e.g., data centres, hospitals, semi-conductors)
