Job description

We are looking for a proactive and commercial-minded Contract Manager to support our business by independently managing contract review, negotiation and execution. This role requires strong judgment, clear communication and the ability to analyse, interpret, and manage contracts end-to-end with minimal supervision, while working closely with internal stakeholders across the business.

The successful candidate must be able to understand contractual intent, identify legal and commercial risks and gaps, and translate legal positions into commercially practical outcomes.

Contract Review & Negotiation
  • Independently review, analyse, and draft contracts (including MSAs, service agreements, amendments, and bid documents).
  • Identify legal, commercial and operational risks, gaps and inconsistencies across related agreements.
  • Support and participate in internal and external contract negotiations with confidence and clarity.
Stakeholder Management & Communication
  • Act as a primary point of contact for assigned sales representatives/client managers, and internal stakeholders on contract-related matters.
  • Proactively coordinate, follow up and drive feedback across stakeholders to meet agreed timelines.
  • Translate contractual risks and issues into clear and actionable guidance for non-legal stakeholders.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and potential delays early and transparently.
Judgment, Ownership & Execution
  • Ability to understand the strategic 'why' behind tasks, allowing for independent judgment and action aligned with business priorities.
  • Take ownership of assigned matters from initiation to completion, including managing dependencies and internal approvals.
  • Escalate issues with analysis and proposed solutions.
  • Manage deadlines effectively in accordance with the internal process and SLAs.
Documentation & Governance
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and well-structured contract records and tracker.
  • Ensure documentation meets internal standards for structure, consistency, and drafting hygiene.
Knowledge Sharing & Development
  • Support the preparation and delivery of periodic contract management training for sales and internal teams.
  • Stay up to date with company policies, procedures, and standard contractual positions.
  • Contribute to process improvements and best practices within the contract management function.
To be considered, you’ll need
  • Education: Bachelor degree in Law (LLB); Postgraduate Diploma or Professional Qualification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in contract review and negotiation. Experience in both private practice and in-house legal work is preferred.
  • Skills:
  • Sound knowledge of contract law and practical contract management.
  • Strong drafting, analytical, and issue-spotting skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and email communication tools.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia; additional languages are an advantage.
