BAT IS LOOKING FOR COMPLIANCE ANALYST - QA

This person will be responsible for supporting End Markets in upholding BAT’s Standards of Business Conduct by conducting Quality Assurance (QA) Reviews across key Legal Compliance areas. This includes assessing the effectiveness of compliance controls, identifying process gaps, recommending remedial and preventive actions, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

The role also involves leveraging data analytics tools such as Power BI, Excel, Power Apps, and Power Automate to streamline QA processes, enhance data visibility, and drive data‑led insights and automation opportunities across the compliance ecosystem.

Reports To: Compliance Specialist- AFC/CRA

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
  • Conduct Quality Assurance Reviews across compliance areas, including: Third Party Anti-Financial Crime (TPAFC) risk assessments, Policy Management, Gifts & Entertainment (G&E) controls.
  • Identify process or control gaps through data‑driven analysis and collaborate with 1st and 2nd Line teams to validate findings and define remediation plans.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards and Power Apps to support QA reviews and ongoing compliance monitoring activities.
  • Develop and manage general compliance topic reporting dashboards in Power BI to assist both 2nd Line of Defence (BI&C) and 1st Line of Defence teams with tracking key compliance metrics, performance trends, and issue remediation progress.
  • Support automation and process enhancement initiatives using Power Apps and Power Automate (e.g., workflow automation, form digitisation, and reporting efficiency).
  • Present QA review results and recommendations to Compliance SMEs, 1st Line teams, and BI&C management.
  • Track and monitor the implementation of remediation actions, escalating delays or non‑compliance where necessary.
  • Contribute to developing and conducting training sessions or knowledge‑sharing sessions on AFC, G&E, and Policy Management processes and systems.
  • Participate in system UATs and tool enhancement reviews (CRA, G&E, Policy Management, or other BI&C-related apps).
  • Collaborate with the BI&C Data & Analytics team (when required) to continuously improve compliance data models, metrics, and automation tools.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
  • Prior experience in conducting compliance, audit, data analysis, or business control reviews in areas such as supplier/customer due diligence, KYS/KYC, AML/CTF, or other regulated environments.
  • Proven experience in data management, analytics, and dashboard reporting (Power BI, Excel, SQL, etc.).
  • Exposure to workflow automation or digital process improvement tools (e.g., Power Apps, Power Automate).
  • Experience engaging with multiple stakeholders across different regions, cultures, and functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret data and translate findings into actionable business recommendations.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with an ability to simplify complex information.
  • Technical / Functional / Leadership Skills Required:
  • Intermediate to Advanced skills in Power BI (data modelling, DAX, report building, dashboard optimisation).
  • Intermediate to Advanced skills in Excel (Macros, pivot tables, formulas, data modelling, lookups).
  • Hands‑on experience with Power Apps and Power Automate for process automation and workflow creation.
  • Strong data interrogation and visualisation skills using SQL, Excel (macros, pivot tables, lookups), and PowerPoint.
  • Analytical mindset with an eye for process efficiency and control improvement.
  • Ability to deliver structured reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior stakeholders.
  • Capability to conduct training or coaching sessions for diverse audiences.
  • Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills.
