COMPLEX DIRECTOR OF FINANCE (JdV by Hyatt & Galaxy Minyoun)
Job Summary: The Complex Director of Finance functions as the strategic financial leader for a cluster of properties. Responsible for achieving financial goals, implementing property-wide strategies, and providing financial expertise to support brand initiatives. This role drives business planning, manages financial and accounting activities, and ensures optimal return on investment while supporting operational and brand objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning & Decision Making — Develops strategies to improve profit, cost management, and explore business opportunities. Prepares and monitors annual budgets, forecasts, and financial reports. Collaborates with operations and revenue teams to optimize financial performance.
- Finance & Accounting Leadership — Leads, mentors, and develops finance teams across multiple properties. Oversees internal, external, and regulatory audits. Monitors departmental performance and provides actionable financial insights.
- Stakeholder Engagement — Advises GMs, executive committees, and owners on financial and operational matters. Manages cash flow, working capital, and ROI expectations. Builds strong relationships with key stakeholders. Ensures accurate P&L documentation, tax compliance, and timely reporting. Identifies cost savings, revenue opportunities, and profitability improvements. Provides pricing, inventory, and financial recommendations to maximize growth.
- Project & Policy Management — Manages capital expenditure projects, brand initiatives, and property improvement plans. Implements financial controls and ensures adherence to policies and SOPs.
- Human Resources & Team Development — Fosters a collaborative, fair, and high-performing finance team. Coaches staff to ensure compliance, accountability, and achievement of goals.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; minimum 2 years relevant experience OR Master’s degree with no experience required.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, GAAP, auditing, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, and budgeting in hospitality or multi-property operations.
- Leadership, adaptability, and effective communication.
- Analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making.
- Technical acumen in finance systems, reporting, and internal controls.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, develop talent, and build organizational capability.
