The Commodity Manager will be responsible for overseeing the commodity business development and marketing of CET products. This role requires excellent communication skills, good networking and strong coordination skills with effective stakeholders’ management, technical knowledge on commodities and its market, adequate know-how on domestic and international trades, and possess a strong aptitude with passion for achievement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the company commodity business development.
- Sourcing supplies and securing customers.
- Manage the commercial, technical, financial, and risk aspects related to the company commodity business.
- Responsible for reviewing and ensuring all documents, quotations, contracts, and transactions related to the company commodity dealings are in order.
- Manage the freight aspect, coordinate closely with the freight desk team for freight rates, shipments tracking and monitoring.
- Manage appointments and performance monitoring of relevant agencies, agents and surveyors in the supply chain.
- Manage disputes and complaints related to the company commodity business.
- Monitor and ensure every shipment and transaction has been completed successfully.
- Stakeholder management and key liaison person for suppliers and customers alike.
- Provide customers’ support and advice.
- Keep the management updated with commodity market news and development.
- Keep abreast of international trading terms such as INCOTERMS and industry best practices.
- Compliance with related prevailing rules and regulations.
- Provide monthly commodity business reporting to the management.
- Manage and maintain database on suppliers, customers, relevant authorities and stakeholders.
- Conduct quarterly performance assessment review and KPI tracking.
- Key liaison person with other business units /departments / subsidiaries within the group holding.
- Manage the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the commodity team.
- Provide support and report to the commodity business Director.
Education / Professional Qualification, skills and key competencies
- Advanced/Higher/Graduate/Postgraduate degree in any related field.
- Possesses 5-7 years of experience and skills in commodity business, trading or related fields.
- Strong command of Bahasa Melayu and English, with Mandarin language skills considered a plus.
- Applicants must be willing to work in Bukit Bintang, CBD, Kuala Lumpur.
- Possess driving license and own transport.
- Flexible in managing time, work, able to travel, and other matters.
- Pleasant personality and communication skills.
