Job Requirements
- We are seeking an experienced CommerceTools Tech Lead / Architect to design and deliver next-generation composable commerce solutions.
- The ideal candidate has deep expertise in headless commerce, cloud-native architectures, microservices, and API-first design, combined with hands‑on experience integrating commerce capabilities with major social media platforms.
- This role will serve as a technical thought leader, solution architect, and engineering mentor, guiding cross‑functional teams in building scalable, high-performance, omnichannel commerce ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities
- Architecture & Technical Leadership:
- Lead the end‑to‑end architecture, design, and implementation of CommerceTools‑based commerce platforms.
- Define the composable commerce blueprint leveraging MACH principles (Microservices, API‑first, Cloud‑native, Headless).
- Drive API design, microservices patterns, event‑driven architecture, and integrations with external services.
- Evaluate technical tradeoffs and ensure architectural decisions align with business goals.
- Provide technical oversight and code reviews for development teams.
- Social Commerce & Social Media Integrations:
- Architect and build integrations with major social media commerce ecosystems.
- Enable seamless product syndication, catalog updates, pricing & inventory sync, and order ingestion.
- Implement tracking, pixel/SDK integrations, and social‑driven customer journeys.
- Support social media‑driven promotions, influencer commerce flows, and user‑generated content (UGC) integrations.
- Ensure brand consistency and compliance across social channels.
- Platform Engineering & Delivery:
- Lead the technical roadmap, sprint planning, and delivery for commerce initiatives.
- Guide teams on implementing custom microservices, CommerceTools Commerce APIs, Import APIs, and GraphQL.
- Integrate CommerceTools with CMS, PIM, DAM, ERP, OMS, and CDP platforms.
- Collaborate with product, UX, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical designs.
- Ensure scalability, security, performance, and reliability of the commerce solution.
- Innovation & Best Practices:
- Champion MACH/composable commerce best practices and architectural governance.
- Evaluate emerging commerce technologies, social‑commerce trends, and marketplace capabilities.
- Create technical documentation, reference architectures, and reusable solution accelerators.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering; 3‑5+ years in a senior/lead/architect role.
- Strong hands‑on expertise with CommerceTools. Adobe Commerce is a plus.
- Deep understanding of headless commerce, MACH architecture, GraphQL, and event‑driven systems.
- Proven experience building social media commerce integrations (Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, etc.).
- Solid experience with Node.js, Java, or TypeScript.
- Experience designing integrations via REST APIs, GraphQL, event brokers (Kafka, SNS/SQS), and webhooks.
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and DevOps practices (CI/CD, containerization).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with frontend frameworks (Next.js, React, Vue) in headless architectures.
- Experience with PIM/DAM (Salisfy, Contentful, Adobe).
- Prior involvement in large‑scale B2C or B2B commerce replatforming.
- Familiarity with marketplace or social‑commerce ecosystems.
- MACH Alliance certification or similar credentials.
