Job summary

A leading packaging company in Malaysia is seeking a Color Mixing Operator to operate and monitor automated ink dispensing equipment. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in a relevant position, preferably in the flexible packaging printing industry. Responsibilities include preparing inks, conducting quality checks, and maintaining accurate records. Candidates must possess a minimum of SPM level and good communication skills. Knowledge in color theory is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Experience in flexible packaging printing considered an advantage.

Color Mixing Operator / Ink Dispenser Operator
  • Operating and monitoring automated ink dispensing equipment to prepare inks according to job specifications.
  • Manually weighing and mixing inks when required to achieve precise color formulations.
  • Adjusting formulations to address specific print job requirements.
  • Performing routine checks to ensure ink viscosity, color accuracy, and quality meet production standards.
  • Conducting spot tests and calibrating dispensing equipment for optimal performance.
  • Recycling balance mix ink.
  • Preparing balance mix ink based on job sheet requests to the printing section for daily process.
  • Collecting and weighing all balance mix ink after mass production from the printing section daily.
  • Maintaining accurate records of ink usage, formulations, and batch numbers.
  • Ensuring the practice of 6S is fully implemented in the ink dispenser area all the time.
  • Troubleshooting and reporting equipment malfunctions or breakdowns promptly.
  • Undertaking any other tasks directed by superiors from time to time.
ACADEMY REQUIREMENT

Candidate must possess at least SPM level.

EXPERIENCE / SKILL REQUIREMENT
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in relevant positions in the same field.
  • Experience for 2 years in the flexible packaging printing industry will be an added advantage.
  • Basic understanding of color theory and ink properties will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to perform work under pressure and work overtime or shift work.
  • Possess good communication skills.
  • Self-starter, versatile and able to work cross-functionally.
  • Capable to speak and write in English, Malay or Mandarin; Mandarin-speaking candidates will be serving Mandarin-speaking customers.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • A responsible, reliable and duty conscious person.
  • Possess a positive work attitude.
  • Have a positive attitude, team oriented and flexible.
