This role is responsible for separating assembled printed circuit boards (PCBs) from multi-board panels using depaneling equipment. This role ensures that boards are depaneled accurately and without damage, following company standards and safety procedures. The technician also performs visual inspections, labeling, and prepares boards for the next stage in the production process or for shipping.

Your tasks
  • Able to program and operate depaneling equipment such as routers, laser cutters, or mechanical depaneling machines according to standard operating procedures
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, Gerber files, and programming files to create or modify depaneling programs
  • Perform routine checks and adjustments to ensure precise cutting and avoid stress or damage to PCBs
  • Visually inspect boards for defects or damage before and after depaneling
  • Trim or remove excess material (tabs, burrs) as needed without damaging the PCB or components
  • Label and package boards accurately based on job travelers or production instructions
  • Handle PCBs using proper ESD precautions and safe material handling techniques
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the depaneling workstation
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on depaneling tools and equipment
  • Document and report any defects, discrepancies, or equipment issues to supervisors
  • Assist with process improvements related to depaneling and material flow
  • Support other post-SMT or final assembly activities as needed

Your Qualifications
  • Diploma or equivalent in Electronic, Electrical and Mechatronic Engineering
  • 1–2 years of experience in electronics manufacturing, including depaneling and equipment operation
  • Experience operating automated or semi-automated depaneling machines
  • Experience programming or editing CNC‑based systems or depaneling equipment
  • Ability to interpret Gerber files, PCB drawings, and production documentation
  • Basic understanding of PCB assembly and handling requirements
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, production order, and basic technical drawings
  • Working knowledge of ESD procedures and IPC‑A‑610 standards
  • Knowledge of ESD safety and proper material handling procedures
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
