Job summary

Tecomet in Bayan Lepas, Penang, Malaysia, seeks a skilled CNC Machinist to produce precise parts by programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines while upholding quality and safety standards.

You will read blueprints, measure parts, document actions, and maintain equipment and work area. SPM or Certificate in Machining is required; Bahasa Malaysia literacy is essential, with basic arithmetic.

Qualifications

• SPM holder or Certificate in Machining.
• Basic Bahasa Malaysia reading/writing; some arithmetic.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate CNC machine per specifications.
• Measure parts and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
• Document actions by completing production and quality logs.
• Maintain equipment and workspace cleanliness and preventive maintenance.
• Lock out/tag out equipment when not in use.
• Support continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Job description

Ensure product machining meet specification and customer’s quality expectation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:

• Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.
• Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces; adhering to company standards.
• Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
• Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
• Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs
• Clean and maintain work area.
• Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.
• Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Ensure correct, good quality products are only allowed to leave manufacturing to be shipped to customer.
• Participate in quality improvement project.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

SPM holder or Certificate in Machining.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Basic reading, writing, and some advanced arithmetic skills required. Ability to speak, read and write in Bahasa Malaysia.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to count and perform simple mathematical calculation.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to read, interpret, and create blueprints and schematics.

EQUIPMENT USED

Computer, calculator, quality check equipment and gauges.
