What You’ll Be Doing

As a Club Manager, you are a leader. You’re accountable and feel responsible for every aspect of the gym operations, all sales, and customer service. You are dedicated to relentlessly ensuring all club areas are engaged, performing, and delivering world-class membership experiences. Club Managers build exceptional teams to drive strategy and achieve key results for the business. In partnership with senior management, you are responsible for the talent acquisition strategy of your club and the ongoing development and growth of your team and your members.

Core Responsibilities of The Job
Leadership and People Management

Create and foster a respectful and inclusive team environment and culture by welcoming and celebrating differences to ensure a supportive and engaging experience for team and club members.

Establish a vision for the club based on key metrics and initiatives. Ensure all team members are connected, engaged, and informed.

Build and foster a strong and psychologically diverse team that includes team members with various personalities, experiences, backgrounds, and skillsets to drive club operations.

Help manage the club’s hiring process, including recruitment, selection, and onboarding, ensuring a focus on DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion).

Support, encourage and oversee all team members' ongoing learning and development consistently and equitably by providing direct feedback, coaching, mentoring, and career path guidance.

Engage in and drive career discussions to support and reinforce team understanding of how working at Anytime Fitness will contribute to career and personal growth by sharing internal opportunities.

Provide team member recognition, gap assessment, and overall performance documentation to support growth. Reinforce your team's career and personal growth and address real-time performance concerns.

Plan and prepare team member schedules according to labour requirements, availability, and budget considerations.

In partnership with HR, address all employee relations issues and conflicts.

Member Experience And Community

Support team members (e.g., leading by example or coaching) to ensure a great member experience, including the relentless application of our P.L.E.A.S.E Service Model.

Lead dynamically by example by being visible on the floor to assess, anticipate, and fulfil the needs of the business, team, and members.

Address members’ concerns and emergency requests with a high sense of urgency.

Increase brand awareness and acceptance in the community by cultivating inclusive relationships with partners and community influencers and seeking to engage with diverse community resources and programs.

Working With Others

Establish supportive and productive relationships with all team members in the club.

Encourage, and collaborate with team members to ensure an optimal member experience and support all club operations.

Collaborate across clubs on related topics of customer service, operations, and sales/marketing.

Operations

Manage whole club performance in accordance with goals (sales, budget, etc.).

Assist in planning and executing high-level quarterly and annual planning for the club with respect to strategy, budget, and labour (including recruiting and training/development).

Manage the club’s business plan and make decisions to drive efficiency and effectiveness of all club operations.

Understand and adhere to people safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.

Perform work in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and laws or regulations.

Budget Responsibility

Accountable for controllable budget, labour hours; annual sales plan target.

Job Requirements

Legally eligible to work in the jurisdiction of the club you are assigned to.

Availability

Willing to work a flexible schedule and some weekends

Other Willingness Requirements

Willing to work as part of a team and can also complete work independently or alone.

Willing to move through a club for most of a shift to help members and accomplish work.

Experience

At least 4-years people management experience in Fitness industry is a plus

Job Assets (i.e., nice to have; not required)

Education: High School or Secondary school diploma equivalent, or above.

Experience: Min 2 years in customer service roles such as retail, hotel, or restaurant or sales-specific management experience.
