Job summary

ams OSRAM is seeking a skilled data engineer to join our global team in Malaysia. The role focuses on designing cloud-based data solutions, building scalable data pipelines, and applying SQL/Python transformations to meet business needs.

You will work with data scientists and analysts to translate requirements into robust data models with strong security controls. You will optimize performance and costs of the data warehouse, document best practices, and ensure adherence across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

Responsibilities

• Work with data scientists, analysts and stakeholders to understand data needs and translate into specs and data models.
• Design and implement cloud-based data solutions aligned with business needs.
• Develop scalable, robust data pipelines from multiple sources.
• Apply business rules and transformations using SQL or Python.
• Ensure data models with security controls (row/column level).
• Provide documentation of best practices and ensure adoption across the team.
• Monitor and optimize data warehouse performance and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with teams to address data integrity and design issues.
• Communicate issues, solutions and best practices to stakeholders.
