Job summary

Job description
List of Key Responsibilities
  1. To ensure approved materials are used, correct method and workmanships are adopted by WPC.
  2. To ensure works are carrying out as per the Construction Drawings for the correct dimension, levels, locations etc.
  3. To inspect WPC’s work in stages as per the date and time requested by WPC.
  4. To witness testing of all materials and work done as per the date and time requested by WPC.
  5. To note the site instructions and any other relevant directives onto the drawings used in inspection, to ensure that they are taken into account.
  6. To prepare a written list of any points which may require attention, in concurrence with the RE, where the WPC has asked for the inspection. The COW is to check the points have been rectified or agreed to before the work is covered, as the case may be.
  7. To inform WPC and ARE should WPC fail to comply with the Safety, Health, Environmental requirements.
  8. To carry out joint measurement on the work completed on site for WPC’s interim payment claim.
  9. To keep a daily recording of the weather, the work in progress, inspection carried out, movements of key plant, points of special difficulty or contention, Health and Safety matters and other items of special interest, and his own hours of attendance on the site.
  10. To note minor variations that may affect payment and to notify the ARE/RE. To keep record drawings marked with the.
  11. To ensure and periodically check that WPC keeps a true record of their staff, sub-contractors and resources on site.
  12. To ensure that general disciplines such as safe working conditions etc are maintained.
  13. To supervise routine test where requested.
  14. To undertake any other tasks as requested by ARE/RE.
  15. To check the contents of the site diaries submitted by WPC.
  16. To keep record drawings marked with dates, quantities etc.
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Formal Education : Civil & Structural/ Construction Works
  • Works Experience : 7 years with Degree/Diploma or 10 years without qualification
  • Skill/ Knowledgement/ Qualifications : Certified Inspector of Works (registered under BEM)
