Civil & Structural Engineer

Sipitang, Sabah

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Civil & Structural Engineer to join our EPCC team for large-scale power plant and energy infrastructure projects in Sabah.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Engineering

• Develop and review civil & structural designs, drawings, and calculations for foundations, equipment support structures, buildings, and infrastructure.
• Perform structural analysis and design checks using engineering software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000) and manual methods.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards (Eurocodes, BS, Malaysian Standards) and project specifications.
• Support the preparation of design deliverables, including technical reports, specifications, and BOQs.

Site & Project Execution

• Oversee and coordinate on-site execution of civil & structural works, including earthworks, foundations, superstructures, and auxiliary facilities.
• Conduct site inspections to verify quality, safety, and compliance with drawings and specifications.
• Provide technical solutions to resolve site-related design or construction issues in coordination with design teams and contractors.
• Review and approve construction method statements, ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans), and work schedules.

Coordination & Reporting

• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and process teams to ensure proper integration of C&S works into overall plant systems.
• Review contractor drawings, material submissions, and technical documents for accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare progress updates, inspection reports, and as-built documentation for project handover.
• Contribute to tender document preparation and technical evaluations for C&S packages.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with HSSE policies and statutory regulations across all project phases.
• Monitor contractors’ performance and adherence to quality, safety, and environmental plans.
• Participate in audits, inspections, and risk assessments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Experience covering both design office and construction site execution, preferably in power generation, oil & gas, heavy industrial, or large infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in structural analysis/design software (STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000) and AutoCAD.
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles, construction methods, and applicable international and Malaysian codes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage contractors and coordinate across multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and reporting skills.
• Willingness to travel frequently or be based at remote project sites.
