JOBRESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review and participate in the work of staff responsible for civil & structural operations.
  • Establish schedules and methods for providing civil & structural; identify resource needs; review needs with appropriate management staff; allocate resources accordingly.
  • Participate in the development of policies and procedures; monitor work activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures; make recommendations for changes and improvements to existing standards and procedures.
  • Recommend and assist in the implementation of goals and objectives; implement approved policies and procedures.
  • Perform the more technical and complex tasks of the work unit including implementing changes to improve efficiency and plant operation cost effectiveness.
  • Submit justification for system or facilities repair or expansion.
  • Coordinate activities of private contractors to minimize disruption of facilities.
  • Participate in the preparation and administration of the operations budget; submit budget recommendations; monitor expenditures.
  • Prepare analytical and statistical reports on operations and activities.
  • Attend and participate in professional group meetings; stay abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of civil and structural operations.
  • Design various maintenance plans and develop efficient standard operating procedures and design various manuals to provide training to all personnel at site and perform efficient survey on projects and perform effective safety analysis.
  • Analyze all project requirements and prepare all required technical papers and recommend modifications and changes if required and participate in various design meetings to negotiate with all subcontractors.
Occupational Health and Safety Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate awareness of OH&S policies and procedures and ensure all procedures are conducted safely and within OH&S guidelines and ensure your direct reports do the same.
  • Be aware of duty of care and adhere to occupational, health and safety legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Be familiar with property safety, first aid and fire and emergency procedures and operate equipment safely and sensibly.
  • Initiate action to correct a hazardous situation and notify supervisors of potential dangers.
  • Log security incidents and accidents in accordance with Company requirements.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
  • Minimum 7 years experience in civil/structural works within facilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong quality focus.
  • Able to work independently with high integrity and professionalism.
  • Skilled in civil/structural inspection and assessment.
  • Experience in building defect diagnosis (cracks, spalling, settlement, waterproofing).
  • Knowledge of building materials, construction methods, and repair techniques.
  • Ability to read drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Competent in project and contractor management.
  • Skilled in cost estimation, documentation, and technical report writing.
