Job summary

PERSOL Malaysia is seeking a Chiller Technician to install, service, and maintain cooling systems in Penang. The role involves troubleshooting, dismantling and overhauling equipment, refrigerant reclaiming, and installing major refrigeration components.

You will work outdoors, often lifting heavy parts, with safety as a priority. The candidate should have at least 1 year in refrigeration, solid understanding of air conditioning, and the ability to work independently in outdoor conditions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in refrigeration.
• Understanding of basic principles of air conditioning, refrigeration and heating.
• Able to work independently in outdoor work condition.
• Good troubleshooting skills in air-con is an advantage.
• Hot work brazing experience is an advantage.
• Job requires heavy lifting, climbing, and handling of materials.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, maintenance, commission, retrofit of cooling systems
• Troubleshoot systems to determine causes of operating errors and rectify problems
• Dismantle malfunctioning systems and replace worn & defective sub assembly
• Perform mechanical overhauls and refrigerant reclaiming
• Install expansion and control valves, compressor, condenser, and other refrigeration parts
• Perform troubleshoot, repair and maintenance on malfunction cooling systems
• Ensure all works are carried out safely and in accordance with safety procedures
• Prepare service reports after every completed job
• Keep record & documentation of repairs
• Communicate with clients with regards to problems in equipment and post-job reports
