Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement the company’s financial strategies to align with its overall business objectives.
- Provide strategic advice to the CEO and Board on long-term financial planning and potential investment opportunities.
- Lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A) initiatives to enhance business growth and profitability.
- Manage and optimize cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to ensure smooth execution of operations and projects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, investors, auditors, and other financial institutions.
- Obtain project financing and efficiently manage the company’s debt structures.
- Supervise budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes, ensuring adherence to local and international accounting standards (such as MFRS and IFRS).
- Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversee the timely completion of tax filings, audit requirements, and all statutory compliance obligations.
- Identify potential financial and operational risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Implement robust internal controls and policies to protect the company’s assets.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory, legal, and corporate governance requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers and operations teams to monitor project costs, profit margins, and billing cycles.
- Evaluate and authorize major contracts, procurement activities, and supplier payments.
- Lead or contribute to ERP implementation and digital transformation initiatives within finance and accounting functions.
- Supervise, guide, and develop the finance and accounting team.
- Foster strong cross-functional collaboration to support business operations and promote financial discipline.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Banking, with a recognized professional qualification (such as MIA membership, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) required.
- At least 15 years of progressive experience in financial leadership, including a minimum of 8 years in a senior finance position within the construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of construction project accounting, cost management, and contract administration.
- Demonstrated expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
- Proven leadership experience in developing and managing high-performing finance teams.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strong capability to turn data insights into actionable strategies.
- Exceptional skills in relationship management, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong integrity, keen attention to detail, and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
