Job summary

Air Selangor seeks a senior leader to head the Data, Analytics and AI Section within the Information Technology Department. You will steer a portfolio aligning strategic priorities, regulatory needs and business problems into deployed, measurable solutions.

You will mentor Heads of Data Science and Data Engineering, drive adoption, and sustain value through governance, partnerships and disciplined delivery across functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant quantitative, computing, engineering or business discipline.
• Added advantage: Relevant postgraduate study or professional certification.
• At least 10 years ’relevant experience in data, analytics, AI or technology delivery, including 3 years of significant leadership responsibility.
• Evidence of turning business problems into deployed solutions with sustained adoption and measurable outcomes.
• Prior Head of Section, manager-of-managers or water-sector experience is advantageous.
• Depth in a relevant data, analytics or AI discipline, with breadth across data platforms and solution lifecycles.
• Working understanding of responsible AI, data governance, security and privacy, alongside business cases, delivery economics and benefits realization.

Responsibilities

• Set direction and priorities. Shape a focused data, analytics and AI portfolio around Air Selangor’s strategic needs.
• Agree problems, owners and measurable outcomes with sponsors; invest, scale or stop initiatives based on evidence and value.
• Lead delivery through specialist teams and partners, from trusted data foundations to adoption and benefits tracking.
• Build capability through Heads of Data Science and Data Engineering with coaching and delegation.
• Manage plans, resources, budgets, procurement, vendors and risks within delegated authority.
• Extend impact through partnerships with industry, academia and other utilities.
