Job summary

Hartalega in Malaysia is seeking an entry-level R&D engineer to execute projects under supervision, develop technical skills, and support manufacturing innovations. You will participate in lab testing, implement improvement methods, and collaborate with the team to meet project milestones.

The role emphasizes learning through mentoring, applying GMP guidelines, and contributing to incremental innovation within ongoing projects at Hartalega’s Sepang facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Fresh graduate, or preferably with minimum 1 year of working experience in RND or with similar roles and responsibilities preferred.
• Knowledge of new product development processes and project management principles.
• Ability to perform defect analysis and apply continuous improvement methods (e.g., process mapping, 5S, Kaizen).
• Understanding of manufacturing technologies and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Responsibilities

• Execute assigned tasks under guidance to drive innovation, product development, process improvements, and cost-efficiency within projects.
• Execute laboratory and testing activities in accordance with defined customer-related technical and experimental requirements.
• Coordinate with team members and supervisors to ensure alignment with project objectives and timelines.
• Apply established experimental frameworks, methodologies, and best practices in RND activities.
• Perform laboratory testing and basic technical work related to manufacturing processes, materials, and product-related issues under guidance, and escalate technical risks and issues to appropriate levels.
• Develop technical skills through mentorship and training, and contribute to knowledge sharing with peers under supervision.
• Contribute to incremental innovation initiatives and continuous project improvements.
• Participate in external collaborations and trials, and maintain accurate technical and experimental documentation.
• Execute other assigned duties to support functional and project objectives.
