Job summary

SME Careers is seeking a chemical engineer to help advance how AI systems understand and communicate complex chemical engineering concepts. You will evaluate, challenge, and refine AI models on domain-specific topics with a focus on accuracy, safety, and professional judgment.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in process design, plant operations, or safety, and hold a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering; advanced credentials are a plus. Experience with AI data training is a strong plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering required.
• 4+ years of professional chemical engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience in process design and plant operations.
• Strong fundamentals in material and energy balances, thermodynamics.
• Familiarity with PFDs/P&IDs and process safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated responses for technical accuracy and clarity in chemical engineering topics.
• Challenge models with realistic chemical engineering scenarios and calculations.
• Provide structured feedback to identify errors, unsafe recommendations, or incomplete reasoning.
• Help shape AI communication standards for technical chemical content.
• Ensure content reflects sound engineering principles and safety considerations.
