Job description
JOB PURPOSE

Formulate and drive the objectives and targets for the academic department by formulating overall programme stewardship, programme administration, compliance audit & accreditation and academic collaboration in order to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of the academic departments in support of the delivery of sustainable superior academic programmes.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
PROGRAMME STEWARDSHIP

Formulate and drive continuous quality improvement (CQI) proposals with respect to academic programmes by reviewing information, approving details, managing tasks, approving resources, and endorsing paperwork in order to ensure the successful implementation of the improvement in support of programme stewardship.

PROGRAMME ADMINISTRATION

Formulate and drive the objectives and targets for departmental programmes (i) teaching & learning administration by endorsing the course schedule inclusive of lecturers, labs and tutorials, lecturer timetable, lecturer workload, and class size and (i) registration & examination administration by endorsing Green File submission, Viva Voce sessions, coursework reports and final examination marks to ensure departmental operations that are smooth and effective in accordance with the Academic Regulations and University Policy as approved by the Senate and Board respectively.

AUDIT & ACCREDITATION COMPLIANCE

Drive audit & accreditation compliance for SETARA, ISO and MQA by (i) enforcing lecturers to prepare audit documents, (ii) managing preparation of programme reports, (iii) approving logistics for the audit exercise, and (iv) facilitating the overall audit activities in order to preserve the quality of the university with respect to compliance of work activities against establish processes, standard operating procedures (SOP), policies, guidelines and other external requirements (ISO9001, Programme Accreditation - Swaakreditasi).

ACADEMIC COLLABORATION

Drive academic collaboration by approving logistics for department activities such as Academic Away Day, Expert Panel Workshops and International External Examiner (IEE) to facilitate departmental linkages in support of the delivery of sustainable superior academic programmes.

DEPARTMENTAL ADMINISTRATION AND FACULTY COVERING

Manage the administration for the department by executing all administrative tasks such as budget and leave management, staff training and performance evaluation, and mentoring and guiding other executives in daily tasks in addition to the occasional covering of faculty administration to ensure smooth and continued operations of the department and faculty.
