Job summary

Pok Brothers Sdn Bhd, a long-established food wholesaler in Malaysia, invites applications for a cashier role at our Petaling Jaya store. You will handle daily transactions, operate the POS system, and ensure accurate cash handling while delivering courteous service to customers.

Responsibilities include verifying prices, processing various payments, issuing receipts, maintaining records, and supporting store duties. Shift work, including weekends and public holidays, may be required.

Qualifications

• Previous cashier or retail experience is an advantage.
• Basic computer and POS system knowledge is required.
• Good communication and customer service skills are essential.
• Able to handle cash accurately and responsibly.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Honest, punctual, reliable and responsible.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays when required.

Responsibilities

• Operate the cashier/POS system accurately for all customer purchases.
• Receive cash, credit/debit card, e-wallet and other approved payments.
• Issue receipts and ensure correct change is given to customers.
• Verify prices, promotions, discounts and quantities before completing transactions.
• Maintain accurate daily cash and payment records.
• Perform cash counting and reconciliation at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Report any cash shortages, excesses or transaction discrepancies immediately to the supervisor.
• Handle customer enquiries and provide courteous and professional service.
• Assist customers with product and pricing enquiries when required.
• Ensure the cashier counter and surrounding area are clean and organized.
• Follow company procedures for refunds, void transactions, discounts and cancellations.
• Ensure all transactions are properly recorded in the system.
• Assist with stock checking, product labelling and other store duties when required.
• Follow company policies, SOPs, safety requirements and security procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality of company and customer information.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Store / Branch Manager.
