What role you will play in the team

We are expanding our manufacturing process control organization and are looking for plant information engineers who enjoy working in dynamic, collaborative and diverse global teams to provide support to ExxonMobil manufacturing sites, including business data workflow, data processing and accessibility.

We have an opportunity for an entry level Manufacturing Digital Solutions Engineer based in Menara ExxonMobil, Kuala Lumpur. This role supports the technical and business decision-making processes through digital and data optimization for manufacturing sites.

What you will do

If successful, you will represent the Business Unit in providing effective above-site manufacturing digital and data optimization support. You will be part of a team that leverages central work processes and tools to certify manufacturing data reliability and accuracy and identify continuous improvements to increase effectiveness and efficiency. You will grow your technical skills while providing essential digital and data optimization support for manufacturing sites. Developing strong relationships with site stakeholders and committing to business outcomes through quality deliverables will be key.

Key deliverables include:

  • Provide L3 and L4 Uniformance operations support to Manufacturing Sites, including PHD, DV (XHQ), Business Applications and other plant computing technologies, including ongoing work processes, upgrades and projects for refineries and chemical plants.
  • Optimize Uniformance tool and features (including reporting) for business teams’ day-to-day decision-making.
  • Digitalize the Manufacturing Environment (wireless technologies, electronic logbooks, etc.) by working with Manufacturing Engineering Division on digital opportunities including consultancy, requirements gathering, testing and rollout.
  • Application consultancy and support across a broad portfolio of applications spanning desktop, client-server and enterprise platforms at site.
  • Data Visualization – work with Business Teams across Refinery and Chemical locations to identify and define how data visualization can deliver business value and define/deliver appropriate solutions.
  • Partnership with Business and Key Contacts – primary interface for remote engineering support with manufacturing Site Engineers and Site Single Point of Contact to meet site business teams’ priorities and opportunities; define and implement initiatives, upgrades and sustenance; establish yourself as an extended member of the site Process Control team; collaborate with Application Engineers to ensure applications are utilized effectively; maintain strong working relationships with Manufacturing Control Systems on technology roadmap, upgrades, enhancements or initiatives; interface with Global Network and Supervisor on issues and opportunities.

Skills and Qualifications

To be eligible for this role, you must:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Computer Science / Information Technology
  • Experience with database management (SQL), MS Excel macros and other digital-related work deliverables (data visualization, data analytics and automation). Please provide a relevant description of the project/deliverables.
  • Demonstrated capabilities in:
