We are expanding our manufacturing process control organization and looking for control systems engineers to provide support to ExxonMobil manufacturing sites, including system development, installation, commissioning, and maintenance activities, and who enjoy working in dynamic, collaborative, and diverse global teams.

Currently, we have an opportunity for an entrylevel Manufacturing Control Systems engineer to join our global team. The role is based in Menara ExxonMobil Kuala Lumpur office.

What you will do

If successful, you will work with the Business providing efficient above‑site Control Systems support. You will be part of the team which leverages central work processes and tools in place to sustain control systems infrastructure to ensure operational reliability and cybersecurity. You will have the opportunity to grow your technical skills while providing essential systems support for manufacturing sites. Developing a strong relationship with site stakeholders and committing yourself to the business outcomes through quality work deliverables will be key.

In summary, we are looking for an entry‑level engineer who is willing to learn and contribute in a fast‑paced environment. Key deliverables include:

  • Support process control systems infrastructure (software/hardware) and advanced control applications for refineries and chemical plants.
  • Provide input to the design of computing infrastructure such as servers, operating systems, and networks to site engineers.
  • Deploy cybersecurity measures and sustain fit‑for‑risk mitigations for the industrial control systems (ICS) environment.
  • Provides effective above‑site Control Systems sustainment support.
  • Leverages work processes and tools that are in place to facilitate effective above‑site support and identifies opportunities to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Primary interface for remote engineering support with manufacturing Site Engineers/Site Single Point of contact to meet site priorities and opportunities to ensure reliable control system operation.
  • Establish yourself as an extended member of the site Control Systems team and proactively contribute to work‑planning and prioritization discussions.
  • Collaborate with Application Engineers to ensure applications infrastructure within scope of responsibility operates at optimum level.
  • Maintains strong working relationship with central engineering, Control System Support Team (CSST) regarding the CSST Roadmap, upgrades, enhancements, or initiatives involving equipment and/or systems relating to the (ICSE).
  • Interfaces with and provides input to SME and Supervisor on issues and opportunities.
  • Participate in after‑hours support rotations for emergency systems support and critical incident response.
About you

Skills and Qualifications

  • Have a bachelor's degree in Engineering/Computer Science/Information Technology.
  • Familiarization with one or more of the following IT technologies: virtualization, networking, Windows servers, operating systems, Active Directory, domain controllers and/or automation scripting.
  • Be able to demonstrate the following:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Troubleshoot, innovative and analytical thinking.
    • Intellectual rigor, strong drive, and desire to lead change.

It is preferable, to be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work in a multi‑cultural global team spanning across different timezones.
  • Understanding of operational aspects like high availability, monitoring, security, and robustness.

Preference will be given to those with the following additional skills/abilities:

  • Experience supporting DCS/PLC in manufacturing domain environment.
