Job summary

A leading procurement company in Penang is looking for a Purchasing Officer to manage purchase requisitions and supplier relationships. Responsibilities include improving cost efficiencies in supply chain management and ensuring timely material delivery. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration, with 2–5 years of relevant experience. Fluency in English, Malay, and Mandarin is required.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Handle daily purchase requisition and purchase order processing.
• Manage suppliers efficiently in terms of pricing, delivery, and service performance.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives and continuously improve supply chain management.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials to support production schedules.
• Conduct sourcing activities for new inquiries and potential suppliers.
• Work closely with the Planning Division to ensure sufficient materials for mass production.
• Reschedule orders (in/out) according to changing demand requirements.
• Monitor, collect, and report ESG and Sustainability data in the Corporate Gensuite reporting system.
• Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned by the superior.

Job Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience: 2–5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Hands‑on experience with ERP/MRP systems, experience with Microsoft AX is an added advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and computer literate.
• Fluency in English, Malay and Mandarin is required.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
