Job summary

ULTRA CLEAN TECHNOLOGY (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. is seeking a Buyer II in Penang to source, purchase and expedite materials from approved suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality compliance.

You will drive cost reduction, negotiate terms and manage supplier performance through scorecards in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. The role requires planning, buying and expediting materials locally and overseas, with emphasis on inventory optimization and quality assurance to meet organizational

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics/Industrial Systems Engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical or equivalent with at least 2 years experience.
• Diploma with at least 5 years experience in Electrical/Mechanical or equivalent.
• Knowledge of MRP system is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Plan, buy, source and expedite materials from local and overseas suppliers.
• Ensure on-time delivery and quality of materials from suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing and terms with local and overseas suppliers.
• Maintain supplier scorecards and monitor performance.
• Support inventory management, material availability and quality goals.
• Carry out other duties as required in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The Buyer II is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and expediting materials from approved suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality compliance. This role drives cost reduction initiatives, negotiates commercial terms, and manages supplier performance through scorecards. Working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, the Buyer II contributes to inventory optimization, material availability, and quality assurance, supporting the organization’s operational and financial goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for planning, buying, sourcing and expediting materials, commodities from approved vendor lists both locally and overseas
• Ensure on-time delivery of materials from suppliers and meeting quality requirements
• Negotiate pricing, commercial terms with local and overseas suppliers
• Maintain and execute suppliers scorecard programs
• Work towards achieving given objectives such as inventory management, cost reduction, materials availability and quality management
• Other duties as required

Educational/Certification Requirement:

• Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics /Mechatronics/Industrial Systems Engineering

Experience Requirement:

• At least 2 years working experience for Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Mechanical or equivalent
• At least 5 years working experience for Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical or equivalent
• Knowledge of MRP system will be add advantage
• Able to perform in fast paced environment; Preferably experience from an manufacturing environment
• Possess good interpersonal and negotiation skills
