Sports Direct Malaysia is currently looking for Buyer to join our growing team.

Sports Direct Malaysia currently operates a total of 40 retail stores domestically and manages a proprietary SportsDirect.com e‑commerce site for domestic and regional fulfillment. Job Description
  • Analyse and select compelling assortments within your assigned categories / activities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with our brand partners.
  • Track sales performance for the selected category and take proactive action on underperforming products through markdowns or promotions, and on overperforming products through daily business.
  • Monitor and ensure on‑time delivery of stocks from suppliers.
  • Monitor weekly trade performance and stock health; achieve sell‑through targets by category and brand.
  • Identify white space opportunities and drive product innovation.
  • Negotiate cost prices, margin improvements, trading terms, and exclusivity opportunities with our brand partners.
  • Create codes, issue POs & update the delivery plan to keep systems current.
  • Sourcing potential brands or suppliers, evaluate and propose for the business.
  • Participate in seasonal sell‑in and buying appointments with suppliers and brands.
  • Monitor industry trends and market developments to keep assortments relevant and competitive.
  • Partner with Visual Merchandising, E‑commerce, and Marketing to ensure cross‑channel alignment.
  • Work with Planning and Allocation teams to optimise distribution strategies and store grading.
  • Collaborate with Store Operations to understand customer feedback and regional needs.
  • Any other lawful assignments as and when assigned by the Head of HR & higher management.
Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of experience in retail buying/merchandising, preferably in the sports retail industry.
  • Applicants from Fashion & Merchandising, Fashion Design, Business Management, Marketing, Economics/Finance, Supply Chain Management/Logistics are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong negotiation skills and supplier relationship management.
  • Good analytical capability and number sensitivity.
  • Knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Excellent time‑management skills and deadline awareness.
  • A genuine passion for retail and ability to spot customer trends.
