Job summary

Jabil in Penang, Bayan Lepas, Malaysia is seeking a skilled materials planner to procure components and support production by aligning with the Master Production Schedule and executing MRP.

You will optimize material costs, issue POs, maintain master data, monitor supplier performance, and collaborate with SCM and Accounts Payable. A detail-oriented, analytics-focused candidate with a related bachelor degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Business Management/ Administration, Logistics and Supply Chain, Communication, Data Analytics and Statistics, or any relevant field of study.
• Detail-oriented in data analytics.
• Multilingual is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and action materials supply to equal demand.
• Analyze, maintain, and execute Materials Requirement Plan (MRP).
• Ensure materials availability to support production per the Master Production Schedule through MRP execution, on-time delivery, and coordination from receiving to Production.
• Effectively manage materials requirement changes from Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs) and product End of Life (EOL).
• Disposition non-conforming, excess, obsolete, and/or high stock materials in a timely manner.
• Issue Purchase Orders to pricing terms & conditions negotiated with Jabil Commodity Managers and Buyers.
• Optimize order management to ensure effective communication with suppliers.
• Maintain master data and purchasing planning parameters to balance procurement cost and inventory investment.
• Monitor and improve supplier delivery and quality performance; address issues using corrective actions.
• Support Accounts Payable in resolving invoice discrepancies.
• Provide inputs to drive Jabil’s commodity and pricing strategy; feedback on supplier performance.

Procure all components necessary to support production or prototype builds. In conjunction, responsibilities include accomplishing the best possible pricing, lead time agreements, resolution of quality issues, delivery and inventory levels.

Job Description

1 Plan, schedule, and action materials supply to equal demand.

1. 1.1 Participate in decision making of MPS (Master Production Schedule) loading through proper materials sizing.
2. 1.2 Analyze, maintain, and execute Materials Requirement Plan (MRP). Continuously monitor and verify materials pipeline to ensure it meets the MRP requirements. Identify and appropriately address materials supply issues.
3. 1.3 Ensure materials availability to support production per the Master Production Schedule through MRP execution, on-time delivery, and coordination of materials movement through receiving to Production.
4. 1.4 Effectively manage materials requirement changes resulting from Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs) and product End of Life (EOL).

1. 2.1 Issue Purchase Orders to pricing, terms & conditions that are negotiated and agreed to by Jabil Commodity Managers and Buyers. Ensure suppliers’ adherence to established agreements.
2. 2.2 Optimize order management process to ensure effective communication with suppliers.
3. 2.3 Maintain integrity of master data and purchasing planning parameters to minimize material liability and to balance the cost of procurement with inventory investment levels.
4. 2.4 Monitor and continuously improve supplier’s delivery and quality performance. Address and resolve recurring or critical issues by utilizing corrective action tools and additional resources.
5. 2.5 Support Accounts Payable in resolving invoice discrepancies.
6. 2.6 Provide inputs to drive and execute Jabil’s commodity and pricing strategy. Work closely with Buyers, Commodity Managers, & SCM. Provide feedback on supplier performance and Jabil’s strategies.
7. 2.7 Minimize materials freight expenses for Jabil.

5. 3.5 Purchasing planning parameters and Purchase Order (PO) data are 100% accurate.
6. 3.6 Meet or exceed and continuously improve on related performance metrics objectives:
   • External materials downtime
   • Days of Supply, Potential Excess, Potential Obsolete Materials,
   • High Stocks, RTV (Return to Vendor)
7. 3.7 Other applicable metrics as defined by Workcell or Purchasing Manager
